“ I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. ” ― Marilyn Monroe
The country where I grew up, where we were taken in when we were political refugees. Where I have been able to survive so far and now I can say thank you. France is my life after war, the country where my mother and I were safe. It's in what is darker that the scarlet light will emerge. In my childhood memories, she didn't look like the way we look now. There were smiles, joy, poetry, children's songs, the smell of our mothers' good cakes and security. I come from a small village called Budange in the commune of Fameck. It's close to the Belgian, Luxembourg and German borders. I have this richness to have a multiculturality of several countries. This is what allowed me to have a very open mind and to be tolerant with all the cultures of the world including that of my heart which remains my backgrounds. I was a trilingual child speaking French, Vietnamese and English.
Il revient à ma mémoire
Des souvenirs familiers
Je revois ma blouse noire
Lorsque j'étais écolier
Sur le chemin de l'école
Je chantais à pleine voix
Des romances sans paroles
Vieilles chansons d'autrefois
Douce France
Cher pays de mon enfance
Bercée de tendre insouciance
Je t'ai gardée dans mon cœur
Mon village au clocher, aux maisons sages
Où les enfants de mon âge
Ont partagé mon bonheur
Oui je t'aime
Et je te donne ce poème
Oui je t'aime
Dans la joie ou la douleur
Douce France
Cher pays de mon enfance
Bercée de tendre insouciance
Je t'ai gardée dans mon cœur
Oui je t'aime
Et je te donne ce poème
Oui je t'aime
Dans la joie ou la douleur
Douce France
Cher pays de mon enfance
Bercée de tendre insouciance
Je t'ai gardée dans mon cœur
Je t'ai gardée dans mon cœur
